ABOUT DR IAN DUNN

Dr Ian Dunn qualified from the University of Leeds in 1998 before beginning his career in general practice in the North West of England. His passion for periodontology led him to pursue advanced training, and in 2001 he was awarded Membership of the Faculty of General Dental Practice (FGDP).

In 2002, Ian joined the Department of Periodontology at Liverpool University Dental Hospital, where he became Undergraduate Teaching Lead in Periodontics and Senior Clinical Teacher in Periodontics, helping to educate and mentor the next generation of dentists.

Ian is on the General Dental Council Specialist List in Periodontics and is a Fellow of the College of General Dentistry, recognising his significant contribution to both clinical practice and dental education. He also teaches periodontology at the Royal College of Surgeons, where he leads their highly regarded short course in periodontics.

Widely respected for his approachable teaching style and evidence-based approach, Ian has dedicated his career to helping dentists confidently diagnose, manage and prevent periodontal disease.
