What Can Dentists Learn About Trust From Dyson?
What can dentists learn from Dyson about brand trust? We explore how building a strong reputation can influence patient decisions long before they book a consultation.
Private Dental Mentor’s clinical neighbours, Black Swan Dental Spa, have been shortlisted in four categories at the Private Dentistry Awards 2026 – another proud milestone for the team and a reflection of the shared commitment to excellence that connects practice and education.
We’re delighted to share some exciting news from our clinical neighbours at Black Swan Dental Spa: the team has been shortlisted in four categories at the Private Dentistry Awards 2026.
Black Swan Dental Spa and Private Dental Mentor share more than an address. Both are led by Dr Ahmad Nounu, Founder and Clinical Director of Private Dental Mentor and Principal Dentist and Clinical Director at Black Swan Dental Spa.
That relationship is an important part of what we do at Private Dental Mentor. The education we deliver isn’t developed in isolation from everyday dentistry. Right next door is a busy, award-winning private practice where many of the principles we teach — from clinical excellence and digital dentistry to patient communication, teamwork and the patient journey — are being put into practice every day.
Following more than 1,000 entries to this year’s Private Dentistry Awards, Black Swan Dental Spa has been named as a finalist in four categories:
To be recognised across four different areas makes us incredibly proud of the whole Black Swan team.
Each category represents a different part of what goes into creating an outstanding private dental practice: the people behind it, the technology supporting it, the care experienced by patients and the overall standard of the practice.
There is a particularly close relationship between Black Swan Dental Spa and Private Dental Mentor.
Dr Ahmad Nounu founded Private Dental Mentor to help bridge the gap between dental education and the realities of modern private practice. Alongside his work in education, he continues to lead Black Swan Dental Spa as its Principal Dentist and Clinical Director.
This means our teaching remains closely connected to what actually happens in practice.
The challenges of treatment planning, communicating with patients, developing teams, adopting digital workflows and delivering an exceptional patient experience aren’t simply topics for a lecture. They are things that have to work in a real dental practice, with real clinicians and real patients.
Black Swan Dental Spa provides that real-world environment alongside the educational work of Private Dental Mentor.
The 2026 shortlist follows a remarkable period for Black Swan Dental Spa.
In 2024, the practice was crowned Private Practice of the Year at the Private Dentistry Awards, alongside other industry recognition for the team and its work.
Rather than treating awards as the destination, the focus since then has remained on continuing to develop the practice: investing in technology, supporting the team, refining the patient journey and maintaining high clinical standards.
Being shortlisted again for Practice of the Year in 2026 is therefore particularly special.
At the same time, recognition for Patient Care, Digital Practice and Team of the Year demonstrates the breadth of work taking place behind the scenes.
From everyone at Private Dental Mentor, a huge congratulations goes to the entire Black Swan Dental Spa team.
As their academic neighbours, we get a closer view than most of the people, hard work and commitment behind these achievements — and we couldn’t be prouder to see that work recognised on a national stage.
There is also something particularly rewarding about seeing the relationship between education and practice working side by side.
At Private Dental Mentor, our aim is to help clinicians become more confident, capable private dentists. Next door, Black Swan Dental Spa provides a living example of the continuous development, teamwork, patient focus and clinical standards that underpin excellent private dentistry.
Four shortlistings at the Private Dentistry Awards 2026 is a fantastic achievement.
Congratulations, Team Black Swan — we’ll be cheering you on at the awards!
Whether you’re transitioning from NHS practice or looking to accelerate your growth, we’ll help you find the right pathway.
